Our policy is to respect and protect the privacy of anyone who visits the eSussex website.
Personal information collected via online forms
We have taken great care to make sure that no-one can intercept personal information about you.
Where we ask you for personal information through an online form, this information will only be used for the purpose indicated and it will be held securely. Information sent in this way is encrypted.
Your information will not be used for any other purpose without your permission and will not be kept for longer than necessary.
The Council will only contact you if you have consented for us to do so or if we are making changes to your details and/or to the website where we consider you should be made aware of such changes.
The Council may use email, sms, telephone or post to contact you, depending upon any preferences you may have stated when registering.
If you become aware that your account may have been accessed by someone else, please firstly change your password and secondly notify the Council so that we can investigate.
Use of IP addresses
Every computer has its own individual IP address, identifying it in the same way as a telephone number identifies your phone line.
Your anonymised IP address will appear on our usage logs which help us monitor how people use the site. With the exception of our online contact forms, we do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. This means that while your use of the website will be logged you will remain anonymous to us.
